Ah, the last Reading List of the year, even if it is the first post of 2008. This means we have some final figures now, for all of you that want to know how much I've read this year. It turns out I've digested 61 books and 55 graphic novels, numbers substantially higher than last year. Or, in other words: I need to get a life.Dr. Slump, vol. 4

Servant of the Shard (The Sellswords, book I)
This R.A. Salvatore novel starring mercenary drow Jarlaxle and human assassin Artemis Entreri wasn't as good as I was expecting, but it was still very entertaining. And I've already bought the second installment, so I guess I'll keep reading.
The Amber Spyglass
The controversial His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman comes to an end with the weakest chapter of the saga. I didn't find it as interesting or compelling as the previous two volumes, and by the end I didn't care much about how the thing would end. Not bad, but not a masterpiece, either.
A is for Alibi
The first book in Sue Grafton's so-called alphabet mysteries (T is for Trespass has just been released), this novel introduces private investigator Kinsey Millhone. The book is short and very entertaining, and I enjoyed it a lot. I will certainly continue with the series!

I had been meaning to reread these comic books since I got them last December, and it took me a whole year to actually do it. And what can I say? I loved them as much as I did the first time. Cool characters, great story, amazing artwork… Maybe I should have another Sky Doll post soon.

Another Stephen King book I read years ago and decided to revisit, and this one is even better than I remembered! Yay!

Written by Crisse and lavishly illustratred by Carlos Meglia, this book mixes ancient Mayan gods with action, mystery, different worlds, and timelines, starring a cute teenage girl named Cañari. Very cool artwork reminiscent of Humberto Ramos and Francisco Herrera. Good stuff!
The Incredible Book-Eating Boy
A strange short illustrated story about a boy that starts eating books to be the smartest person on the planet. I know, I know: I think it’s weird too.
Torpedo: obra completa, vol. 1
Yes, it’s the famous comic book by Abulí and Bernet! My dear Jorge gave it to me, and the truth is that I enjoyed it tremendously. The artwork is just okay, but the story is great, and the narration and dialogue are out of this world. Fun!

Está claro lo que te has leído en los USA y lo que has devorado aquí en España, Fel. Y al parecer sigues con tu política de conseguir aquí en la Madre Patria lo que no puedes allá por ultramar. Muy bien. :)
Lástima que la última entrega de HDM haya sido tan decepcionante. Y como si no tuvieras suficientes series de libros con las que has leído ya, ahora te da por ponerte con los veintipico libros de la Grafton. ¡Hala, a vivir!
Lo único que me sorprende de la lista es tu opinión de Las Rubias. No he leído ninguno de los cómics, pero a raíz de un comentario tuyo donde los mencionabas, indagué un poco y ví alguna viñeta. Era sketchs cortos, sin casi pies ni cabeza, y en plan chistes un tanto malos. Pero, como digo, no me he leído ningún cómic como para decir que con toda certeza me parece una mierda. :\
Por cierto, The Incredible Book-Eating Boy, con ese título... ¿es autobiográfico?
Hehehe: sí que está claro lo que me he leído aquí, hehehe. Y seguiremos viendo lecturas aquí compradas en el futuro, porque tengo más cosas que no me ha dado tiempo a leer aún, y que ya formarán parte de la Reading List: January que pondré de aquí a unas pocas semanas.
La serie de la Grafton me la tomaré con calma (aunque ya me he hecho con el segundo volumen), que tampoco hay que abusar. La verdad es que los libros son cortitos, y son, además, un cambio agradable con respecto a toda la fantasía que he estado deglutiendo últimamente. Habrá que darse unas dosis de realidad antes de volver a meter la cabeza entre dragones.
Y con respecto a Las rubias, qué quieres que te diga. Algunos chistes son malos, otros viejos que todos conocemos, y otros son hilarantes. La mayoría te hace sonreír, y algunos (sólo dos) no los he cogido ni después de leerlos varias veces. (En mi defensa diré que al menos uno de esos dos no tiene gracia debido a que el original francés parece basarse en un juego de palabras que se intuye pero no se respeta.) Vamos, que está bien para pasar el rato. Y los dibujos, como ya he dicho, son graciosos y muy expresivos, con lo que el conjunto me ha gustado. Además, ya sabes que soy easy to please ;)
Y lo del niño comelibros no es autobiográfico, hahaha. Aunque, igual que el año pasado, he decidido que este año voy a tratar de leer un poco menos, a ver qué pasa...

A mí también se me hace muy cuesta arriba cuando durante un tiempo no leo más que un sólo género. Y eso que hasta hace poco solía leerme las series sin pausa ni cartón. Del primer libro al cuarto sin respiros intermedios.
Últimamente prefiero ir variando. Si hoy me leo una novela de fantasía, mañana una de ciencia-ficción, y luego una biografía o un ensayo. O un libro de humor. Y tan a gusto. :)

A ver si yo aprovecho el 3x2 de el Corte Inglés ahora en Enero para pillarme alguos DVDs...
