It’s been said that nowadays there’s no imagination in the Hollywood industry. And the industry itself insists on proving us once and again the truth that lies behind those words. On these first years of the twenty-first century we’ve seen dozens of comic adaptations in the big screen, some of them good, the most of them simply passable. We’ve watched also countless videogames adaptations, not to mention those which came out of written word best-sellers (the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings franchises come to mind). Then there's also all the TV shows, old and new, that we’ve seen made into big features. And now we’re right in the middle of a fever of remakes of the 80’s flicks, with a fourth Indy and a fourth Die Hard movies coming right at us, just to mention two of them.So, anything goes? Well, yes, as two new projects soon-to-be made movies clearly show. 20th Century Fox is preparing a Sims (the EA game) movie, and Hasbro is doing the same with its famous board game Monopoly.
What kind of argument could possibly a movie taken from The Sims videogame could have? Will we see two hours of the main character life? He wakes up, showers, breaks his fast (as a fantasy writer would say) and, for the big finale, the movie climax... goes to work. A pretty exciting concept. Do really Hollywood big shots expect us to wait anxiously for that?
On regarding that other project that doesn’t let me sleep at night, I know there was a Cluedo movie done, so this shouldn’t be a surprise. But, anyway, seriously? Even if they manage to get Ridley Scott, Scarlett Johansson or Kirsten Dunst, as they pretend to do... A Monopoly movie? I suppose it will be about a bunch of really wealthy kids that go around buying streets or even whole blocks. How many of them will end in prison? How many of them will inherit from their dead aunts? Not questions I’m really expecting to see answered.

I never saw the Clue movie, but... a Monopoly movie? Dude, we really have to finish our script. If Hollywood is that desperate for ideas, selling our movie should be a walk in the park.
Pues la peli del cluedo es buenisima si puedes alquilala lo del monopoli me deja flipado...pero que monopoly es, el de Star Wars, el de la liga de futbol o el clasico?
Halagan, you´re right man, "there´s something rotten...in Hollywood". How come there are no projects. I mean "really" new. It´s a matter of good ideas or jusr crap copies, not even thoughts made into movies. Hollywood needs a whole new bunch of good scrip-writers to cope with this crisis of ideas. Monopoly, Clue...WTF!!?

The game concept for movies is really out there. I have no idea what a Monopoly movie could be about. Clue, however, is a great movie, with witty dialogue, suspense, excellent actors (Tim Curry is terrific!). Nash is right - you should all give it a shot.
Ya se que no significa eso, pero si lo lees asi rapido y lo traduces mal como suelo hacer yo, parace que la ultima frase de huitzilin dice: "Nash esta derecho deberias darle un tiro" ya se que me machacareis por esto pero no he podido evitar comentarlo

The thing is that Clue the board game at least had some potential for a screen adaptation to be made of it. And Clue, the movie, is a good example of that. But Monopoly... I fail to see the potential of it.

Sabia yo que no tenia que decir nada.
Lo de quien es quien es facil, una peli misterio donde encierran a un monton de gente en un hotel y van descubriendo quien es el asesino haciendo preguntas al ordenador central que lo controla todo, si no aciertas te mantan.
La peli sobre el tragabolas tambien es fácil hay un monton de hipopotamos carniboros asesinos en un hotel y un montón de estudiantes se meten por error las parades se van estrechando y caen al foso de los hipopotamos que los van devorando a todo velocidad al final se salva la chica guapa y otro tipo...eso si el amigo negro gracioso muere el último.
Y lo de los juegos reunidos Geyper esta tirando es para la siguiente entrega de ocean's 15 el campeonato mundial de juegos reunidos Geyper se realiza en las vegas y tiene un importante premio en metalico y Cloony y compañia piensan robarlo.
Pero lo del monopoly sigo sin verlo.

Y Hal: ya tardas en escribir el post con los mejores/peores juegos, que podrían ser tanto de mesa como videojuegos. Mi granito de arena: Supaplex, aunque no diré si entra en la categoría de buenas ideas o malas, hehehe.

¿Una película sobre una cabeza gigante que va esquivando bombas y devorando infotrones? ¿Cómo podría ser eso una mala idea?
Cuando los infotrones se rebelaron y comenzó el asalto al poder, el gobierno tuvo que enviar a su agente más cualificado. El único operativo lo suficientemente valiente. El único cazador de infotrones con la suficiente capacidad cerebral como para no necesitar cuerpo, sino tan solo una cabeza. Esta es la historia de una enorme e insaciable cabeza roja a la que sus enemigos simplemente llaman... Murphy.
Tio hay que rodar esa peli suena genial...
