Want You Bad

Rumor has it The Offspring's new CD might come out next March. I'm a big fan of the band, and I've been eagerly anticipating this release. Splinter, their last CD, came out in 2003, and it was about time a new album was released. I know they also put out a Greatest Hits CD in 2005, but it only had one new song, the terrific Can't Repeat. I bought that and the Video Collection on DVD, but I needed more. Apparently, The Offspring have been playing here and there but haven't been in a hurry to record new material. (I guess they have enough money.) Also, their drummer left, so maybe the just weren't feeling like going through the pains of finding a new one. At any rate, the album is being made, so this is great news, at least for me!

Great new indeed. I'm not much of an Offspring fan, but I clearly remember his Smash album, which I heard once and again back in 1994. It was great.

But I've never heard any of their other works, not even Americana (not counting songs such as Pretty Fly, WDYGaJ or Hit That, of course).

Oddly, I always pair The Offspring with Green Day. Both their breakthrough albums, Smash and Dookie were released the same year, and I got the two of them at the same time, so I was usually hearing one or the other back then. Seriously, I can't seem to hear about one group without remembering the other. I understand I need treatment. Any kind. Now.

Hahaha. I like The Offspring much, much better than Green Day.

I have every CD The Offspring put out after Smash: Ixnay on the Hombre, Americana, Conspiracy of One, and Splinter, and I love them all. And I also got the Greatest Hits, as I said before. Awesome music!

Yeah. I really like their music. It's fresh fun.

But I actually don't like them better than Green Day. Nor even better than dozens of other classic or contemporaneous groups.
But I like them. I sincerely regret sometimes liking so many things. So many albums, so many books, so many movies. So many everything. :(

The Offspring is certainly my favorite American band, no question about it. In fact, I think I should come up with another post ranking their songs or videos or something like it, hehehe. Now that's a thought.

Now that's a new post. :)

Sometimes you just got to grab the ideas as they appear. ;)

BTW, care to explain the title of this post, Fel? Cause I don't get it... :(

Hehehe. I've noticed I've been doing that for a while: having an idea for a post that I can actually stretch and make it two posts instead.

And Want You Bad is the title of one of my favorite songs by the band. Check out the video.

It looks cool. And that metaphore at the ending, with the shakiness and the dripping white... Ahem

On regarding the song, I've just seen the video on the hotel, so I haven't heard it. :(
I'll check it out later again at home.

:P How can you check out the video without the sound? I mean, it's a MUSIC video, hahaha.

The metaphore might not be subtle, but the girls in the video are hot. And I mean HOT!

And the song's great too. I mean, it's a music video, for God's sake! ;P

Well, more Offspring goodness coming soon, since I already have the post ready, heeheehee...
