Or almost. It's been reported that Top Cow has signed Stjepan Sejic for 34 issues of Witchblade starting early next year. That means the Croatian artist will be the artist on Witchblade for the next three years! Y'all already know I like his artwork, so I couldn't be happier to hear about this. I was wary, though, because we all know how superstar artists tend not to deliver the goods on time. I was only one of several in voicing my doubts at Newsarama, and Sejic himself told me not to worry. He says he produces around 50 (fifty!) pages a month… plus covers and pin-ups! And if you keep in mind he is drawing and coloring his own artwork, that number is even more impressive. In a time when comic book artists struggle to deliver twenty-two pencilled pages a month, Mr. Sejic draws and paints fifty, and still has time to take care of covers and whatnot. Having a great artist every month for a long time on any series is something you just don't find anywhere anymore, so we should all rejoice. And if the series happens to be as wonderful as my beloved Witchblade, then you guys have no excuse not to buy this book. So go get it already!

Sejic Forever

He empezado a leer Witchblade desde el número 100. Los dibujos, IMPRESIONANTES. Sobre la historia, digamos que me acabo de meter de lleno en ella. Empezando por el clímax. Así que aún no sé muy bien que esperar en los próximos números. Pero me fío de tí, Fel. Faltaría más.
Hehehe. Me alegro de que de momento estés satisfecho. Gráficamente, el número 100 es ciertamente heterogéneo, con contribuciones de varios dibujantes, algunas de ellas increíbles, como la primera página de Marc Silvestri que creo recordar mostré en un post hace tiempo, contando que el original se había vendido por tres mil dólares o así. Aparte de Silvestri, Mike Choi y Adriana Melo son los dos que más páginas dibujan en el número. Choi fue el dibujante regular de la serie en números anteriores, y Melo era/es la actual dibujante de la serie. Ella y Sejic, que toma el relevo pronto, hehehe.
Lo que más me gusta de la historia es, supongo, los diálogos, los personajes y las relaciones entre ellos: reales como la vida misma, y al mismo tiempo rodeados de sucesos sobrenaturales. Ah, Witchblade... Espero que te siga gustando!
Desde luego suena bien, y el número que he leído era ciertamente espectacular.
A ver si me puedo poner pronto con más Witchblade.
