I know it's been ages since Finn5fel posted here about his five favourite episodes from the first season of Angel. I haven't posted this before because of some technical problems, but now it seems everything is ready and working properly again. So, I can't let escape the chance to highlight another Great Moment on Screen of TV history. Right out of She, thirteenth episode of Angel's aforementioned first season, here you can enjoy the reason behind all the broodiness of our favourite vampire detective.
Of course, I also feel obligated to mention here my 5 most liked Angel first season episodes, a list not very different from the one Fel brought to us. Here we go:
I Will Remember You
I can't describe this episode better than Fel did, so I won't say much. Being a pro-Xander person as I am, I never liked the Buffy/Angel romance pairing more than in this very moment.
Parting Gifts
Wesley Windam-Pryce is back, and this time he's a new man. Or he pretends to be. I will never forget my surprise when I saw him cross that door for the first time, crossbow on hand. And I can only laugh at the end of the episode, with the hilarious scene:
Wesley: Yes. (starts to leave but ducks back in) No rest for the wicked fighters. Through storm and rain, heat and famine, deep painful gnawing hunger, I go.
Angel: Breakfast?
Wesley: Ooo! I suppose so.
Angel: Breakfast?
Wesley: Ooo! I suppose so.
Eternity
For this one episode we get to see the twisted and vicious Angelus again, even though by drug inducement. An actress who sees how her glory days are passing by tries to get a vampire non-life for her, because of the promise of eternal youth. I'll say it again: Angelus!
Five By Five
Faith, just recovered from a coma, arrives to L.A. and soon finds herself under hire... to kill Angel. Vampire with a soul vs. rogue Slayer. Could there it be more fun?
Sanctuary
Faith begins her slow and painful redemption under Angel's supervision. Plus, "Buffy visiting, (...), Detective Kate and her rapidly deteriorating relationship with Angel, the first appearance of Lindsay and Layla as a team, the sudden prominence of Wolfram & Hart, the first hints at the Darla storyline with flashbacks from Angel's past… and a lot of emotional charge and great dialogue". I'm sorry I'm quoting Fel as prominently as shamelessly, but he said it first, and he said it better.

Eternity y She se me quedaron fuera por razones de espacio, así como Somnambulist, otro episodio que me encanta. Y, como ya dijimos, metí la pata cuando dije que la impagable escena de Angel (y Wesley, y Wesley) bailando salía en Expecting, cuando es verdad que sale en She.
Parting Gifts está muy bien también, con la incorporación de Wesley, el autoproclamado rogue demon hunter (a lo que Cordelia pregunta What is a rogue demon?, hahaha).
Doyle me gustaba mucho como personaje (y el episodio en que su ex va a casarse con otro demonio es también buenísimo), pero la serie dio un salto cualitativo en cuanto Wesley apareció. Y es que Wes es the man!
Sí, sin duda alguna voy a tener que hacerme con esta serie (de la que no he visto ni pinga - hoy me ha dado por los cubanismos, fíjate- pero que no paráis de recomendarla). Así que en mi espíritu "culo-veo-culo-quierístico" será una de las primeras cositas que me compre... cuando tenga un sueldo decente y me lo pueda permitir.
Aunque bueno, supongo que siempre está Netflix
Alberto, realmente deberías darle una oportunidad a esta serie. La primera temporada está bastante bien en líneas generales, pero es que a partir de la segunda la serie para mí sufre una mejora bestial. Y cada temporada es mejor que su predecesora, con la excepción quizá de la quinta y última. Pero, hey, en ella está el insigne episodio Smile Time, así que mala, no puede ser.
Estoy de acuerdo: cada temporada es mejor que la anterior, excepto la quinta. Gran, GRAN serie.
Entre mi comentario anterior y estos... Ya tengo otra idea para un post lístico de esos que tanto me gustan.
Hmmm... Intrigado me has, querido Halagan. Tengo una idea: ¿es un Top 10 con las mejores series de TV de todos los tiempos? Y si ésa no era tu idea lística, ya tienes dos ;)
Pues mira tú por donde que era esa exactamente la idea que había tenido. Tanto hablar de series y tanto hacer listas en formato post, supongo que solo era cuestión de tiempo.
Qué obsesión tengo por esquematizar y priorizar las cosas, hay que ver.

Pues hala, ya puedes hacer la lista, que me muero de curiosidad. Y, por supuesto, voy a empezar a pensar en qué series pondría yo...
