What an amazing coincidence. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an entry about Slayers, that fun, fun show that only lasted for three seasons. The first season, simply called Slayers, aired in 1995. Slayers Next continued the adventures of Lina, Gourry, Zelgadiss and Ameria in 1996, and Slayers Try closed the series in 1997. Well, as it turns out, eleven years haven't made fans of the show forget about its wacky characters, because it has been announced that a fourth season is, at long last in the works.
Slayers Revolution is the chosen name for the new season, and the official site has just been launched. Apparently, the manga version will start its publication in the May issue of Dragon Age Magazine, and the TV version will follow shortly (More here).
Pretty much all the people involved in the previous seasons are back for Revolution: director Takashi Watanabe, character designer Naomi Miyata, and the J.C. Staff animators. Regarding the cast, all the main characters are back, and they are voiced by the same actors: Megumi Hayashibara (Lina Inverse), Yasunori Matsumoto (Gourry Gabriev), Hikaru Midorikawa (Zelgadiss Graywords), and Masami Suzuki (Ameria Saillune).
Excited? You should be!
