As you all know by now, I have been watching the first season of Deadwood on DVD. One of the main characters is Al Swearengen, the nasty owner of The Gem Saloon played with infinite talent by Ian McShane. I think McShane has a very interesting face, and I found myself mentally drawing his face’s lines and contours and wrinkles when he was onscreen. (This is something I do a lot, so I’ll admit to being weird.) So, even though I’m not good at portraits or caricatures, I thought I’d give it a try and I would draw the notorious Mr. Swearengen. The pencils only took me eight minutes, since I can draw really quick if I want to. Then, I spent twenty minutes going over the drawing with my markers, and another twenty inking everything with my Black India Ink pens. The result, as you can see, looks somewhat like McShane, even if I wouldn’t say it’s a good portrait or caricature. But do let me know what you think!

No tengo una imagen clara del actor ahora mismo, pero por las fotos que se ven de él, lo has clavado, Fel. Y anda que menuda cara de tristeza. Tiene pinta de que no es el... bueno, "comic relief" de la serie.
Hehehe. Estoy bastante contento con el dibujo, aunque el parecido podría ser mayor. Y sí, Swearengen es un amargado, pobrecito. Es lo que tiene maquinar sin descanso: it takes its toll on you ;)
Por cierto, ¿Deadwood, o The Tudors?
The Tudors hands down. Ya tengo la crítica programada para el lunes, MLK day aquí en los USA.
¿Milk day? ¿Y eso qué significa, que las vacas tienen entrada gratis al teatro y cine?
MLK es Martin Luther King, que seguro que también bebía leche, pero bueno...
Ah, vale. Eso explica muchas cosas. ¿Es fiesa nacional, entonces? Quiero decir, que no trabajas, vamos. ;)
Es fiesta nacional, pero en mi escuela somos más chulos que un ocho y sí trabajamos. Tenemos un horario especial, un speaker, y distintos seminarios y actividades relacionados con el tema, pero aquí estamos todos. Currando.
Así me gusta, a ayudar a Obama a superar la crisis. Ya estás hecho todo un americano, Fel. ;P
Hehehe. Ya te digo. Hoy hemos tenido un horario especial para poder ver la retransmisión del discurso del nuevo presidente. Qué bonita es la democracia :)
