I just saw the teaser for the upcoming Transformers movie. It doesn't really show anything, and if you're hoping to get a glimpse of our favorite robots... well, a glimpse is all you'll get. Literally. Anyway, I think this could be a really cool movie. Then again, Transformers #1 was the first comic book I ever bought, and the first and only series I followed for a long, long time, so I might be biased. Then the series was cancelled. Then, they made that crappy Robots in Disguise miniseries. And then the artwork skyrocketed with Pat Lee and the Dreamwave guys. But Dreamwave passed away, and I think they're on IDW now. (For the complete timeline plus all the different TV shows and publishers, check out The Ultimate Guide, but keep in mind it was published it 2004, so it doesn't look ultimate anymore.) Anyway, check out the preview if you were a middle school kid in the 80's. And have I mentioned they're also making a Voltron movie?

Siento decir que los Transformers no son lo mío. Es más, hasta hace poco no descubrí que había una serie en cómic. Para mí sólo eran unos muñecos que podían transformarse de robot a... a... bueno... a cosas varias.
Por otra parte, nueva película de Michael Bay. Aparte de mucha acción, pero MUCHA, y las intervenciones de actorazos de la talla de Jon Voight, John Turturro y el actor fetiche de Bay, el prolífico Michael Clarke Duncan, la cosa no promete demasiado. Ojalá me equivoque.
Ya que estamos en modo confesional, admito que, más que gustarme los Transformers por sí mismos, me gustan por los gratos recuerdos que tengo de cuando coleccionaba la serie y jugaba con mis muñecos. Hace años que no compro nada relacionado con ellos, y, la verdad, no siento ninguna necesidad. Pero los dibujos molan un montón.
Con respecto a la película, y dado que -confesión número dos- me suelen gustar las pelis del Bay -no te rías, que tú mismo pusiste un post de The Island-, espero que ésta esté bien. Total, para ser mejor que Superman Returns tampoco hace falta mucho.
