Bender's Game, the third Futurama movie, came out last week, and I got a chance to watch it at a friend's house. As with the previous two, Bender's Big Score and The Beast with a Billion Backs, I laughed out loud and had a good time, but I also felt the story was a bit fragmented and obviously devised to work as four separate TV episodes.Regarding the story itself, I liked it better than Beast, and as much as Score, maybe even more. The fantasy element is something we hadn't seen in the show yet, and it was really funny and full of references Dungeons & Dragons players will salivate over. Besides, seeing the fantasy versions of the main characters was hilarious, to say the least.
To sum it up, Bender's Game is in line with the other Futurama movies, which have been entertaining but not mind-blowingly awesome. If you liked the show, chances are you’ll like the movies enough to at least watch them once and have a good time, and you'll probably want to buy them. If you didn’t follow the show, though, you’ll think these movies are silly and nothing to write home about. But where else would you find preposterous dialogue like the following?
“Look, a Hobbit!”
“That’s not a Hobbit. That’s a hobo and a rabbit.”
“Yeah, but they’re making a Hobbit.”

Ardo en deseos de verla. La primera me gustó más que la segunda, pero en alguno momentos puntuales de The Beast me reí como no recordaba hacerlo desde hacía mucho.
Tienen que inventar el deathball pero ya.

No me he reído tanto como con The Beast, aunque es cierto que la historia me ha parecido mejor que en aquella. Y peor que la de BBS, quizá porque me pasé cuarenta minutos esperando a que apareciera el mundo fantástico y eso. Por no decir que cuando lo hizo fue de un modo bastante gratuito, según mi opinión.
La película está bien, aunque sea inevitable esa sensación de estar viendo unos cuantos episodios seguidos.
Y anda que no heché de menos una versión fantástica de Zapp Brannigan
Curiosamente, mi parte preferida de la película es la del sanatorio mental de robots. Y digo curiosamente porque es hacia el principio, y en esos momentos yo estaba empezando a ponerme tenso a ver por qué Leela aún no se ha convertido en Leegola (jeje) ni Fry en Frydo (jejejeje).
Pero a posteriori como que le he cogido cariño. Desde luego es la parte con la que más me reí.

Yo también me pasé la mitad de la película preguntándome cuándo iban a pasar al universo de fantasía, y el manicomio de robots es muy cachondo, ciertamente.
Y el caso es que ni me había dado cuenta de que Brannigan no sale hasta que he leído tu comentario. Será que no lo eché de menos :)
Con lo que mola Zapp Brannigan. En un sentido humorístico, claro.
Y el Instituto Hal para robots inestables mola entero. Empezando por su nombre, jajaja.

Por cierto, Fel, aprovecho para decir que anoche vi The Mist. Y realmente tienes que echarle un ojo pero ya.
Y no es que sea una obra maestra. Para nada. Pero tiene una cantidad de momentazos que tiran de espaldas. Aún hoy no me la quito de la cabeza.
Vamos, que hacia el final estaba en el borde de mi asiento, con una mano sobre la boca.
Además, fijo que sólo con que veas el primer plano de la película ya pensarás que ha valido la pena.
Vaya! Tendré que verla, pues. Además, creo que no he leído el relato en que está basada, aunque, casualmente, pensaba comprarme el libro de historias en que está hoy o mañana. GMTA!
