A friend let me borrow Death at a Funeral, a comedy directed by Frank Oz, and even though I didn’t think it was as funny as she claimed it was, it was still entertaining. The movie oozes British humor and feels more like a play than an actual movie, with pretty much all the action taking place in the house in which the funeral is taking place. Alan Tudyk, the only actor in the whole cast I was familiar with, is really funny and really naked all movie long, but he is not the only funny part in the film. However, I can’t say much more without revealing some surprises, so I’ll just leave it at that. If you like offbeat comedies and British accents, this movie is for you. If this doesn’t sound appealing though, you’ll be better off giving this funeral a wide berth and you won’t be missing anything.

Funny Funeral
A friend let me borrow Death at a Funeral, a comedy directed by Frank Oz, and even though I didn’t think it was as funny as she claimed it was, it was still entertaining. Frank Oz tiene sus altibajos como director. In & Out está aceptablemente bien, Bowfinger me parece una muy buena película, y en cuanto al resto de su filmografía... Bueno, digamos que he visto películas mejores que las que ha dirigido.
Ahora, como su Little Shop of Horrors no hay nada en este mundo. Qué gran película.
Recuerdo que In & Out me encantó y que Bowfinger me defraudó, pero hace muchísimo tiempo que vi ambas películas, así que tampoco me voy a poner a criticar demasiado.
Con respecto a Death at a Funeral, es una peli sencillita, sin alardes, pero entretenida. Aunque me alegro de no haber pagado por verla, hahaha.
A mi esta peli no me terminó. Esperaba quizás algo mas de ella, quizás pensando en otras comedias inglesas, o es que me hago mayor y con ello mi humor se avinagra... no se. Pero bueno, pasable.
Pues habrá que verla. Yo al Oz le doy el beneficio de la duda.
Veo que Recaredo coincide conmigo: pasable.
Últimamente estoy en modo veedor de películas, así que a ver si puedo hacerme pronto con ella.
La promesa de un Alan Tudyk desnudo es demasiado tentadora para dejarla pasar.
Y con Nathan Fillion en aquel memorable episodio, son ya dos los actores de Firefly que no nos dejan nada a la imaginación. A ver cuándo nos regala Jewel Staite, hehehe.
Natan Fillion desnudo en un episodio de Firefly? Joer, pues no me acuerdo. Quizá vaya siendo hora de que me la vuelva a ver.
Si mal no recuerdo, es el episodio con su "esposa". Uno de los dos.
