I just finished reading the second volume of Bakuman, and I have to say I'm completely hooked to the series. I am rooting for Mashiro and Takagi like I haven't rooted for a character in years, and I hope they succeed in becoming famous manga artists. In this volume, they start working with Mr. Hattori, an editor at Shueisha that is impressed enough with their work to give them a chance to prove themselves. From there, sleepless nights, worries, an unexpected nemesis, and the unbridled desire to fulfill their dream carry the protagonist couple through hundreds of pages in an exhilarating ride that leaves the reader breathless and wanting more. It's a good thing I've already bought volume three!
