Spiders creep me out, there's no two ways about it. The thought of them sneakily crawling over me makes me shiver, and I try to stay away from them as much as possible. As if this was some kind of "face your fears" therapy, I am exposed to spiders at the farm on a regular basis. We're not talking about cellar spiders here, though; we're talking about big-ass spiders that look deadly violently poisonous. To wit, consider the spider accompanying this post. My girlfriend took this picture, and for the uninitiated, I'll tell you this is a black and yellow garden spider of the Argiope type, if I'm not mistaken. It is not poisonous to humans, but just look at that thing and tell me it doesn't look like your worst nightmare come true. Right now, we have three of those (that I've spotted) in the barn. One of them is smaller (but getting bigger and bigger every day), and the other one is about as big as the one featured above. Like I said, I know they're not poisonous, but every time I have to walk underneath their spider web, the thought of them dropping on my head makes me want to run away. Perhaps I am being irrational (my girlfriend thinks they are benevolent, not malevolent), but just look at those horrible monsters and tell me if you wouldn't scream like a little girl if one of those landed on your neck. Yeah, that's what I thought.

Malevolent Spiders

JAjajaj, mira que te gustan poco estos bichos encantadores. Hace poco murio la que teniamos nosotros en el jardin, era amarialla y negra y tan grande como la palma de mi mano...pero delgadita. Le dabamos de comer moscas, avispaas y todo tipo de insectos. Si no hacen nada, al reves son buenas por que se comen bichos molestos.
Muy espectacular la foto, Cristal deberia trabajar para National Geografic.
Si portarse se portan muy bien, pero mejor dejarlas fuera de casa donde no se te pueden meter en la cama a traición mientras duermes plácidamente.
Y sí: Crystal debería estar ganando montones de pasta como fotógrafa. De hecho, el mes pasado participó en un concurso de fotografía de, precisamente, National Geographic :)
Por cierto brutales el resto de fotos, menudos bichos teneis en los USA. Me encanta la de la horuga. Y las libelulas son muy raras tienen las alas destrozadas, sabes por que??

Me alegro de que te gusten las fotos. Laverdad es que Crystal tiene buen ojo con la cámara. Le encantan las libélulas, y las alas no las tienen rotas: son así normalmente.
En fin. Mis niñas están aquí, así que me tengo que ir...
te puedo asegurar que lori está total y absolutamente de acuerdo contigo. pánico les tiene. asegúrate de que la boda se realice en un lugar "spider-free" que si la liamos...

Pues como Nacho dijo tuvimos hace un tiempo una súper araña, pues puso dos huevos hace dos semanas salieron y hay una cuatrocientas arañas en la tela de araña una pasa son súper pequeñas y están haciendo una súper tela de arañas es como tener una capitulo de National Geografic en casa sobre la vida de la arañas. Saludos
Brrr... He visto telaranas con miriadas de aranitas... Brrr...
